Curriculum

The Hindi curriculum is level based starting from Level 1 to Level 8.

Level 1: Introduction to Devanagari Script - Swar and Vyanjan (Vowels & Consonants). Learn 2 and 3 letter words, numbers and colours.

Level 2: Continue to practice Swar and Vyanjan. Increase vocabulary with 2, 3, 4 and 5 letter words without matras. Introduction to matras (अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ).

Level 3: Revision from previous level. Lessons with matras. Increase vocabulary, practice reading and writing in Hindi. Learn basic expressions and sentences in Hindi. Stories from Hindu mythology and Indian festivals.

Level 4: Revision from previous level. Introduction to Sanyukt akshar and Adhe akshar, with lots of words and short lessons. Simple conversations, names of fruits, vegetables, animals and birds. Improve reading and writing speed. Short stories.

Level 5: Revision from previous level. Introduction to Hindi Basic Grammar – Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Genders, Singular/Plural and Adverbs. Paragraph reading and comprehension, sentence translations Hindi to English and vice versa. Increase Hindi vocabulary, and lots of reading and writing practice. Short stories.

Level 6: Basic Grammar 2. Revision from previous level, plus, Pronouns, Tenses, Prepositions, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Homonyms. Practice lessons. Increase Hindi vocabulary. Short stories.

Level 7: Basic Grammar 3. Revision from previous level, plus, Karak, Pronouns and types of pronouns. More dialogue/conversations. Practice lessons. Increase Hindi vocabulary. Writing short stories in Hindi.

Level 8: Continue to practice grammar from Level 7. Reading and writing essays and answering questions in Hindi.
